Michael Lorin Todd Johnson
02/03/1960 - 01/30/2013

Michael Lorin Todd Johnson, Mike, the son of Mr. Arthur B. Johnson, Jr. and Sandra J. Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death, was born February 3rd, 1960 in Monroe, LA. He passed away Wednesday, January 30th, 2013, of cardiac complications. Though he spent his formative years in Memphis, TN, he grew to be a citizen of the world having lived also in Houston, TX, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Minneapolis, MN and settling, finally in Los Angeles, CA. And though he also spent considerable time out of the U.S., his favorite stops being as diverse as Italy and parts of Indonesia and the South Pacific, Mike's most beloved place to visit was always New York City.
A talented visual artist early in life, after graduating Raleigh-Egypt High School, Mike pursued his love of drawing and painting as a student of Lambuth College in Jackson, TN. Ever the jester growing up, it came as no surprise to most that Mike eventually chose to become a stand-up comedian. Frenetic, absurd, prop-laden and invigorating, Mike's innovative comedic work rapidly led him from the small stages of Minneapolis to the renown stages of Dangerfield's and The Improv in California. It was in LA that he supplemented his comedic performances with accomplished DJ work. In time, Mike moved from the stage to employment with a local beverage distribution company as a computer and network technician where he worked until retirement.
Mike is preceded in death by his beloved life partner of dozens of years, Mr. Harlan Christianson who passed but a mere month prior. Mike leaves behind many family members including two elder brothers, Charles O. Johnson of Forsyth, MO and Arthur B. Johnson III of Memphis, TN along with a step brother, James Higginbotham of St. Louis, MO., as well as a host of loving family in his birthplace of Monroe.
We love you and will miss you Mike. Happy travels.
