JOHN SAMUEL GRAHAM DIES IN COLUMBIA
Kirksville Resident 28 Years, Funeral Monday Afternoon
---John Samuel Graham, 70, 1001 S. Wabash, died at 9:05 p.m. Friday at Boone County Hospital in Columbia, where he had been for three days. A retired laborer, Graham had been in failing health for several months. He had lived in Kirksville the past 28 years.
---Born at La Plata April 29, 1892, he was the son of Luther and Ellen Moncrief Graham. He was married August 7, 1920 at Macon to Donna Williams.
---Survivors include his wife; five children, Mrs. Dian Swanson, Mrs. Elizabeth Martie, Norman Clifford, and John S. Graham, Jr. all of Columbia; Senith Elsworth Graham, Kirksville; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild, and one brother, Ellis Graham, Griston, Ind.
---His parents, three brothers, two sisters and one infant daughter preceded him in death.
---He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Baptist church.
---Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the La Plata Baptist church conducted by the Rev. Leo Shumaker with burial in the La Plata city cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the La Plata American Legion post. Nephews will be bearers.
---The body will remain at the Christie Funeral Home in La Plata until time for services.
