Emma Stone, 79, of Millersville, passed away unexpectedly at Lancaster General Hospital on Saturday March 1st. Born in Lancaster and lifelong area resident, she was the daughter of the late William and Lydia Peters and was the wife of the late Charles A. Stone, Sr., who passed away in January 1993.

Emma had worked as a laundry worker for the former Congress Inn in Lancaster until its' closing. She attended Victory Church in Lancaster, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, loved to go shopping and spending time with the family and her grandchildren.

Emma will be lovingly remembered by her sons; Charles A., Stone, Jr., companion of Mary A. Gorsuch of Tampa Bay, FL and Scott K. Stone., husband of Beth A. Stone of Lancaster; her seven grandchildren; Brooke, John, James, April, Jeremy, Abby and Amanda, her three great grandchildren; Nichole, Jeremy, Jr., Hope and her sisters; Shirley Yellets, Ruth Yellets, Helen Lefever, Doris Yellets and Joanne Newcomb. She was preceded in death by her daughter Roxanne Patton along with several sisters and brothers.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Life Celebration Service at Fred F. Groff Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Friday at 11:30 AM with the Pastor Rick Glass officiating. Interment will be held at Melliner's Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fred F. Groff Inc. on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of services. If desired, memorials may be sent in Emma's memory to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
