Husband of Gertrude Parnell Healy, the widow of Daniel Healy and mother of Laura Healy. They were married 18 Jan 1853 in San Francisco and had the following children:
* Charles Henry Newcomb 1855–1860
* George Laurin Newcomb 1856–1883
* Emma Estelle Newcomb, Mrs George Sharrock 1859–1929
* Gertrude May Newcomb, Mrs Charles Deane 1862–1925
After George died, Gertrude married Christopher Drescher.

Obituary for Lloyd Sharrock included:
Mrs Sharrock was born three miles east of Jamestown and lived in the county during her entire life. Her father was George Newcomb who worked at the San Francisco U S Mint before coming to Tuolumne County in the early 50's. Newcomb owned a ranch near Algerine which is known today as the old Newcomb ranch, now owned by Supervisor William Knoop.
