Cecil F. Brock, 64, of 141 Maple Ave. died at 6:24 a.m. Monday, March 15, 1999, at his home.

He was born May 21, 1934, in Pheonix, Arizonia, to Glenn W. and Nina G Shippy Brock, both parents preceded him in death. He married Marjorie Shaffer then Dorothy Spitzig.

Surviving are two sons, Richard of Rawling, Wyo.,and Michael of Strafford, Pa., and daughter Cecillisa "Lisa" Brock Llava of Galesburg: four brothers, Joe of Abingdon, Harvey of Viola, William (Bill) of Denton, Tx., and Melvin "Burt" of Harviell, Mo., two sisters, Roberta West and Frances Thurman, both of Abingdon; his friend Dorothy Brock of Abingdon, who took care of him: seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He worked for Briggs Manufacturing Co. in Abingdon for 37 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 2079.

He severed in the Air Force for four years. He was of the Methodist faith.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Community Hospices of America.
