Mrs. Katie Myrtle Thompson Cheek 94, of 2015 Bendict Road of Sumner Community died Sat at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral was today at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel with the Rev A.L. Parker and the Rev. Ronald E.Wall officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
She was a native of Alamance County and had lived in Sumner most of her life. She was the oldest member of Friendly Ave Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Mrs Helen C. Morgan of Greensboro; sons, Charles R., C.Alex., Gilmer L., and Bill E. Cheek of Greensbor; John E. of High Point; 21 grandchildren; 34 greats and 4 great-great.
