Interment was in the Foxworth cemetery under direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Pallearers were grandson of the deceased, Herman Thompson, James Ball, Lavoyd Ball, J. W. Ball, Bill Thornhill, and Travis Ball.
Mrs. Ball died suddenly about seven o'clock Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. M. Brumfireld at Darbun.
Mrs. Ball was born February 5, 1876, in Lawrence County at Tilton, the daughter of Joe and Minerva Sauls Mullins. She was reared in that community, however after her marriage to Walter H. Ball as a young woman, she resided in this county near Darbun.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church at Tilton, however attended Antioch church and the Richland Creek church since she made her home for sometime with her children, some of whom reside in those communities.
She had made her home for some months recently in Columbia with her daughter, Mrs. Cyrus Garland at 333 Second Street and was well-known here, having many friends. She had more recently made her home with her son, Arthur (Ott) Ball at Buford.
She was preceded in death by three children, and her husband died seventeen years ago.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. L. M. Brumfield, Mrs. G. M. Thompson, and Mrs. Lamar Ginn of Darbun, Mrs. Truly Thornhill of Buford, and Mrs. Cyrus Garland of Cambridge, England; four sons, Lloyd Ball of Hattiesburg, Arthur (Ott) Ball and Hurt Ball of Buford, and Joe Ball of Morgantown; twenty-six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
