Funeral service 3 p.m. Friday Crestwood for Merrill Alford, 78, Gadsden, who died February 28, 1996. He was a lifelong resident of Gadsden and owned and operated Dari-King in Attalla for more than 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II and member of East Gadsden Baptist Church. Mr. Alford was preceded in death by his son, Clark Alford and mother, Lula Alford. He is survived by daughters, Cynthia (Bob) McClendon and Angelina (Jack) Jenkins; grandchildren and sister-in-law, Tena Alford. Crestwood Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
