On Saturday, May 17, 1930, death invaded another home in Au Sable Forks, New York, and claimed as its victim a lady in the person of Mrs. Elizabeth Horrigan, who had spent practically her entire span of life in the Ausable Valley and who was respected and loved by every one of her large circle of acquaintances.

Mrs. Horrigan had been in failing health for several years but had been able to be about her home on Palmer street up to within a week of the time of her death. In a fall on the stairs of her home she sustained a fracture of the left leg near the hip which was followed a day or two later by an attack ot pneumonia. At her advanced age she could not withstand the inroads of this disease and on Saturday she passed to the Better Land.

Mrs. Horrigan was born in Black Brook 71 years ago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Bagan, but had spent the greater part of her life in the village of Au Sable Forks where she was a devout member of Holy Name church.

She was survived by four daughters, Mrs. J. W. Scott, Mrs. F. A. Long and Miss Kathryn Horrigan of Au Sable Forks, and Mrs. William Myette of Binghamton, New York, and three sons, Raymond of Au Sable Forks, Edward of Plattsburgh, New York, and Bernard of Chicago, Illinois, the latter of whom reached Au Sable Forks on the evening before his mother passed to her eternal reward.

Two sisters also survive; Mrs. B. A. Healy of Au Sable Forks and Mrs. Edward Carey of Greenwich, New York; and one brother, Patrick Bagan of Au Sable Forks.

The funeral was held from Holy Name church Monday, May 19, 1930, at 9 o'clock in the forenoon, Rev. C. A. Kitts officiating at the requiem mass. Interment was in the family plot in Holy Name cemetery.

The bearers were R. K. Morhous, James Williams, William Ryan, Dennis Longtemps, T. A. O'Neil and Charles Marshall.
