Horace was the son of John Wallace & Mary Jane Sprenkle.

He married Hettie B. Gable on 24 Nov 1901 in York Co., PA.

They had one son: Penrose C.

Horace's obituary in the York Gazette & Daily includes: Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hettie B. Gable Wallace; a son, Prof. Penrose C. Wallace, supervising principal of the Junior High schools of York; a brother, William H. Wallace, Windsor; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Gable, Windsor, and Mrs. William Holtzapple, Yoe, and a number of nieces and nephews."

His obituary describes him as "chief of the magistrates' docket, Bureau of Revenue, Harrisburg."
