They crossed the Verdigris Coulee & on one trip discovered a patch of Saskatoon berries & arrived home with their hats full of berries. The rains arrived late & the it was almost fall before the grain sprouted that year. The 2 men like their neighbors travelled north with 2 teams & one wagon & found work with threshing crew.
