Arthur "Art" was born on the Stevens place 7.5 miles north of Milk River Alberta. He was the third child born to Anna & Albert Loft. Art has known his wife since they were 4 years old as they were neighbors. They had the first date Art was 15 & Helen was 14 years old. Art took her to a show in Ellert's Hall. They both felt so shy & self conscious that they didn't date again for a couple of years. Art & Helen (Barrows) were married Dec 6 1939 at Helen parents place. They took there short honeymoon to Great Falls & Helena Montana. After that they moved into a house which had been built for them. They lived in that house for some 48 years. Over the years they built a barn hen house & planted trees. They two had a windcharger for power than a Delco & finally Calgary power. After they have been married for 4 years they had their first baby a girl. They named her Gail Loft born 1944. Three years later another girl Lorna Jane Loft "Janie" was born 1947. Janie married John Tessari of Warner Alberta Canada. Gail married Eldon Lutz they have 2 children a daughter & one son.
