Sue was a proud housewife and devoted mother. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and playing cards. Sue was instrumental in establishing the United Methodist Thrift Shop and managed the shop for many years, a member of the United Methodist Women, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Sunflower Square Dance Club, and a charter member of the JJJ Club. On May 22, 1944 she married Dale Cranston, a Navy Sailor, in Oregon City, OR. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1968. She later married Al Haas on July 2, 1971 in Ness City. Al preceded her in death on March 17, 2012.
She is survived by four children, three step-children, 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, three great grandchildren on the way, and one great great granddaughter She was preceded in death by her husbands, four sisters (one of which died at the age of two), four brothers, a step-son, Don Haas, and a grandson, Ryland Schartz.
Funeral Service will be Friday, December 14, 2012, 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church, Ness City with Reverend Mark Chambers and Pastor Deb Harvey presiding. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family present from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M.
