Grover Cleveland Fields and Viola Pearl Philpott were married on February 4, 1914, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, Kentucky, with W. R. Wagoner officiating.

OBITUARY: GROVER FIELDS TAKEN BY DEATH – 3 – Month Illness Fatal to County Man – Funeral Monday.

Grover C. Fields, 60, Route 7, died at 4:45 o'clock Friday afternoon at the county hospital where he had been a patient since Thursday. He had been ill for about three months. Mr. Fields was born November 25, 1892 in Greene county, Kentucky, son of Charles and Delilah Fields. He was married to Miss Viola Philpott who survives. A resident of Bartholomew county for the past 25 years, Mr. Fields had been employed with the county highway department for the past three years. Surviving are Mrs. Fields; two sons, Kenneth Fields and Charles Fields, both of Route 7; four daughters Mrs. William Sullivan, Mrs. Marion Thompson, and Mrs. Charles Marvin, all of Route 7, and Mrs. Dwight Swim, of Hoopston, Illinois; five brothers, Roy Fields of Oklahoma; Henry Fields of Waynesville; John Fields of Coakley; Alton Fields of Nashville Route 4 and James Fields of Indianapolis; three sisters and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Mount healthy church conducted by the Rev. L. D. Mayhugh. Burial will be at the adjoining church cemetery. The casket will be open at the Barkes, Fox and Inlow funeral home after noon Sunday until time of going to the church.

Funeral services for Grover C. Fields, 60, of Route 7, who died Friday afternoon at the county hospital were held Monday afternoon at the Mounty Healthy church. The Re. L. D. Mayhugh conducted services and burial was made at the adjoining cemetery. Special music was furnished by Mrs. Mayhugh and Mrs. Glenn McCord. Pallbearers were Martin Boxman, Earl Merritt, Jake Beatty, Harry Brewer, Henry Smith and Jess Andis. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Jewell Hendershot, Mrs. James Hendershot, Mrs. Lou Rogers, Mrs. Wesley Pruitt, Mrs. Joe Shehan, Mrs. Osar Anderson and Mrs. William Harrison.
