FUNERAL OF MRS. BARHITE
The remains of Sarah Bates Barhite who died at her home at Salamanca Tuesday were brought here today at noon and the funeral held in the Methodist church with interment in Valley View cemetery. Rev. William Snyder, pastor of the church, had charge of the service, preaching a very comforting sermon. Mrs. Nettie Green and Mrs. Myrtle Rice sang and the bearers were Albert Clapp, William Clapp, Julius Shaw and Otis Newton.
The attendance was large as Mrs. Barhite was for many years a resident of this village where she won many friends by her kindly helpful life. Among those present from out of town were Austin Stafford and Cortland Bates of Jamestown; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Shaw, Mrs. Florence Shaw and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Risley of Falconer; Tunis Barhite and wife of Portland; Daniel Barhite and Mrs. Chapman and family of Conewango; Mrs. P. C. Holt of Cornplanter, Pa.; Fay Barhite and other friends of Salamanca.
