ANOTHER SOLDIER GONE.
William A. Barhite, a Veteran of the 112th New York Died Early This Morning.
William A. Barhite died at his home in West Salamanca early this morning, aged 62 years. He leaves a wife, Sarah; a daughter, Miss Minnie Barhite, who teaches school at Frewsburg, and two sons, Charles W. and Fay Barhite, both of West Salamanca. He was a cousin of Mrs. A. H. Stafford of this city.
Mr. Barhite enlisted in Co. B, 112th New York Volunteer infantry, at Ellington, Aug. 4, 1862, and was mustered out with his company at Raleigh, N. C, June 13, 1865. The Illness of which he died was contracted during the Civil war and two of his brothers met their death while serving in that war, Charles H. Barhite of Co. C, 112th New York, dying of sickness at Suffolk, Va., in 1862, and Daniel S. Barhite of Co. B. 112th New York, at Ellington in 1863.

The funeral of William A. Barhite whose death occurred at his home in West Salamanca, April 13, 1906, aged 62 years was held from the Congregational church Sunday, April 15, at 2:30 p. m., services conducted by the pastor, Rev. Levi Rees; music by the church choir. Interment in Valley View cemetery. He leaves a wife, Sarah Bates Barhite, also two sons, Charles W. and Fay Barhite, and a daughter Miss Minnie Barhite, all of West Salamanca. Mr. Barhite was a veteran of the Civil war, having enlisted in Co. B, 112th N. Y. volunteer infantry at Ellington Aug. 4, 1862, and was mustered out with his company at Raleigh, N. C, June 13, 1865. His funeral was largely attended, veterans acting as honorary bearers. Among them were the following: J. M. Shaw, A. H. Stafford, A. W. Clapp, T. A. Case, Warren Strong, Hiram Kilboum, Frank Day, M. A. Frank, H. C. Larabee, Horace Hollister. The floral emblems were rare and beautiful, covering the casket. In attendance were two brothers, Tunis Barhite of Portland and Leander Barhite of Conewango Valley; also Mrs. Hattie Bugbee Rowley of Depew, Mr. and Mrs. Whipple and other friends of Salamanca, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Risley of Kennedy, Ormal Bates of Randolph.
