Fay A. Barhite Succumbs at 86
Had Lived Here Most of His Life
Fay A. Barhite, eighty-six, of 79 Washington St., died in Salamanca District Hospital Friday evening (Jan. 20, 1967) following a long illness.
Born in Ellington, July 13, 1880, Mr. Barhite came to Salamanca when he was a young boy and had made his home here since that time.
He was a member of Cattaraugus Lodge 239, F&AM, Salamanca Lodge 1002, Loyal Order of Moose, Erie Veterans Assn. and Exempt Fireman's Assn.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Barhite; a son, Marion Barhite of Sawmill Run, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Hunt Funeral Home, 28 River St., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Glenn Reed officiating. Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery.
Cattaraugus Lodge 239, F&AM will hold services at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
