According to Kings death cert 10623 under name of Burbidge, Louisa was 87 years 5 months and 7 days old when she died on December 17, 1878. Date of burial per Green-Wood records is December 18, 1878. Her name is noted as Mifs Louisa Burbridge and her occupation is Lady, indicating that she was never married. An excerpt from the Brooklyn Eagle has the following entry for publication date of December 18, 1878:

Dec 17 Mrs Louise Burbridge 88 years 61 Adelphi Street.

Obviously, the Mrs part is incorrect - the address matches her death certificate.

Based on information from her brother, James' journal, her mother is widow Louisa buried in Hartford, CT. Louisa is the sister of Mary Huntington, Clarissa Burbridge, Cornelia Hyatt and Elizabeth Mix, all buried together in adjoining lots 11028 and 3383 in Section 83. Mary died before but the other three were living together with a servant in NYC in the 1850 Census.

The sisters had three brothers, including Capt. James who is buried in Middletown, CT, William who supposedly died in Chile and Lieut Charles buried in South Windsor, CT with his wife Rhoda Wolcott and daughter Maria. The other children were born in Hartford, CT as far as I know. There were several others who did not live to adulthood. Her death certificate shows her mother as having been born in the US and father in IRELAND!! Family lore is that he was a conscript British soldier who deserted and joined the American forces.
