Smithsburg RUBY LOUISE SHOOK CRUM, 81, of 11830 Kieffer Funk Road, died Thursday, August 14, 2003, at her home. Born May 19, 1922, in Barnum, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Flickwood and Minnie Louise Ashby Shook.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, George R. Stead, Marshall G. Funk, Sr., and William A. Crum.

She was employed for 22 years by the Washington County Board of Education. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville. She was a member of Chewsville Senior Citizens, Order of the Eastern Star Esther Chapter 3 of Hagerstown, Eagles Club 1336 Ladies Auxiliary of Brunswick, and Degree of Pocahontas of Williamsport.

She is survived by three daughters, Marcia E. Bealer, Gapland, Karen S. Price, Hagerstown, and Louise A. Nisewander, Deritter, La.; a son, George B. Funk, Pennsboro, WV; stepson, William Crum, Brunswick.

She was preceded in death by a son, Marshall G. Funk, Jr., three sisters, and three brothers.

Services were held at the Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro; burial was in Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick.
