Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Dollie Warren Douglas. She was married first to Lonnie Waddell of Darlington and later to James E. Ward of Michigan. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Florence.
Surviving are daughters, Evelyn Harding of Clio, Mich., Janice Karam of Davison, Mich., Debra Rayfield of Chesterfield, Betty Andrews and Faye Streett, both od Darlington; a son Wayne Waddell of Florence; sisters, Bonnie Sellers of Charleston, Ethel Gainey of Chesterfiele and Louise Dennis of Sumter; a brother, Truesdale Douglas of Darlington.
