Evelyn L. Rudy, 89, formerly of Wooster, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Conard House Assisted Living in Mansfield.

Evelyn was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Foraker, to Paul and Leah (Klingler) Baker, and married Russell Rudy on Nov. 16, 1948. He died in 1989.
She received her managing cosmetologist license in 1942 and managed beauty salons for eight years, then was self-employed until her retirement at age 70. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, collecting quilts, canning foods and spending time in her garden.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by daughters Vicki (Daniel) Stallard of Shreve and Nancy Smith of Wooster; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Donald (Faye) Baker and Raymond (Margaret) Baker; sisters, Marian Sherry and Marie (Robert) Houghton; and sisters-in-law, Jean Baker and Lou Geib.
In addition to her husband of 42 years, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Leah; brothers, Richard and Robert Baker; and sisters, Emmabelle Acker and Joanne Baker.
