GENEVA G. HUDSON
CRAMERTON — Geneva Gillespie Hudson, 87, formerly of 201 Front St., died Feb. 3, 2005, at Cambridge Hills of Pittsboro.
She was a native of Easley, S.C., daughter of the late John Calhoun and Cora Gillespie Gillespie.
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Monday, First Baptist Church, Cramerton
BURIAL: Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia
VISITATION: One hour before the service, Hudson Building, First Baptist Church
Mrs. Hudson was a retired textile inspector having worked at Burlington Industries Mayflower and Galey & Lord Plants. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cramerton since 1947. During that time she taught Beginners Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was very active with her children’s school and church activities throughout their years.
SURIVORS: Sons, Dr. Dan Hudson of Cary, Paul M. Hudson and wife Earlene of Eden; daughter, Wanda H. Lambert and husband Thomas of Huntersville; grandchildren, Michelle Hudson, Dr. Melissa Hudson, Jennifer Barnes and husband Stephen, Paul Allan Hudson and wife Julie, Heather Edwards and husband Aubrey, Johanna Silber and husband Frank; great-grandchildren, Walker Barnes, Carsyn Barnes, Konner Edwards, Cooper Thornley Edwards, Hannah Silber; sisters, Lois Moss and Gladys Barnard both of Gastonia, Francis McAllister and husband Henry of Gaffney, S.C., Barbara Putman and husband, Randall of Easley, S.C.; sister-in-law, Virginia Gillespie of Cramerton

Geneva's father John Gillespie remarried after his first wife Cora died. He married Kate Cochran of Easley SC. The sisters, Frances and Bobby, mentioned above are John and Kate's children. They are half sisters to Geneva, Lois and Gladys.
I remember visiting Geneva and she was so pretty and her house was well decorated and so well kept. She and Lois are alike in that respect. Both were always so well groomed and had such neat homes.
