My 2nd cousin (Gillespie)
Lois and her siblings were cousins to my Mama. They all grew up together and mama has told me many stories about this family. I only met them a couple times but really enjoyed both visits.
Lois was born to John and Cora Gillespie in 1913. She had 2 sisters, Geneva Gillespie Hudson (on F.A.G) my listings, and Gladys Gillespie Barnard, also in my listings
She had one brother, R.L. Gillespie, deceased.
She married Gene Moss,(8-12-1931)deceased, and they had 3 children. Betty (deceased), Donald, and Rita. Donald lives in TN and Rita on the S.C. Coast.
I visited with her and her sister Gladys the summer before she died. She was a real Southern Lady. She would completely dress every morning, with jewelry and make up, the works.
Her apartment was beautiful. So well decorated and spotless. She had to sell her house when her husband died.
Being alone for security reasons.
She had to give up her apartment and move to TN in with her grandson,Steve shortly after my last visit.
Rest in Peace Lois. You kids had a very rough childhood after your Mother died. You took in your siblings after you married. You all turned out to be very nice adults , successful, hard working , made wonderful homes for your children. You are with many family members now, your husband, your daughter, your parents, and many more. Please give my grandmother a big hug from me.
Please leave a flower for my Dear Grandmother.
