Staff Sergeant Tom flew in bombers during the Second World War, he was a marksman waist gunner on the B-17 bomber "Blues in the Night". They were shot down in the freezing North Sea, the pilot was killed in the crash and the remaining crew strugfled to survive until the British pulled the crew out of the water. He served in the Army Air Corps, while his older brothers, Dave who was killed in the Army and Bob in the Navy. RIP Uncle Tom
