Carlton Lamar Black, 73, of Chattanooga, TN died Sunday, February 3, 2013, in Mobile, AL.
A longtime resident of Chattanooga, TN, Carlton was employed with Shaw Industries for the past 20 years.
He was a member of Shield Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Annie Lou Black.
Survivors are his wife, Patsy Black; two daughters, Carla (Marty) Lee, Ringgold, GA and Cindy (Rod) Vincent, East Ridge, TN; two sons, Rusty(Michell) Howell, East Ridge, TN and Jody Howell, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel with the Rev. Bill Proctor officiating.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Marty Lee, Rod Vincent, Joey Lee, Lowell Sharpe, Joe Jowers and Jimmy King serving as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shield Baptist Church, Missions Fund c/o Connie Fouts, 180 Fouts Way, Chickamauga, GA 30707.
The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home, 3239 Battlefield Parkway, Fort Ogelthrope, GA.
