She was a graduate of Excelsior High School; she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Memorial College. She furthered her collegiate quest at Bethune Cookman College and Jacksonville University.
She was a lifetime employee of Saint Johns County School system working as the Librarian at Walter E. Harris and Richard J. Murray High School.
She was a member of the Gamma Eta Chapter Phi Delta Kappa, Inc, and a member of the saint Johns Association of retired Teachers
She leaves to cherish her memory: One son Michael Richards and Daughter- in- law Mrs. Sarah Richards of New York City one daughter of St. Augustine Four Grandchildren; Joicelyn Lewis, Michael T. Richards Kimate Richards And Andre Richards one sister Mrs. Queenie Mitchell, and a host of sorrowing Friends.
