Born in Mahanoy City, June 6, 1928, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary Kurtz Peel.
He attended Mahanoy City schools and proudly served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was employed and retired from the former City Shirt Co., Mahanoy City.
He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, now known as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Wargo Peel, in 2004; a daughter, Suzanne Blankenhorn, in 1985; brothers, Joseph, Elmer, Michael and Jack; and sisters, Mary Macieunas, Florence Zaborsky and Josephine Hyland.
