T. Lee Polin died suddenly of heart trouble at Lakeland Assylum on Sunday morning July 29th. The deceased was about 36 (sic) years of age and was a son of Dr. D. O. Polin of this place. He was born and reared in Springfield and although he spent a good part of his life since he came of age in other places he always claimed this as his home. A little over a year ago he being in bad health his mind became affected and he was taken to Lakeland. Only a few days before the news of his death his father received word that he was about restored to health both mentally and physically and it was the intention to bring him home this week. The news of his death was consequently a great shock to his relatives and friends. Lee Polin was well known and liked by all. The remains were brought here on the evening train Monday and the funeral took place at St. Dominic church on Tuesday morning.
