Herman Kolb, 77, died late Sunday afternoon at his home, 203 1st St., Sheboygan Falls, after being in ill health for the past year.
A native of Manitowoc County, he was born Oct. 5, 1877, on a farm in the town of Meeme, a son of the late Karl and Johanna Kolb. His marriage to Meta Kirtchen of Sheboygan was performed June 26, 1902 by the late Rev. Ferdinand Vollbreicht of Trinity Lutheran church. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1952.
A resident of Sheboygan Falls for the past 45 years, Mr. Korb was employed at the Blust Meat Market, 203 Pine St., until ill health forced his retirement a year ago. He served as assistant fire chief of the Sheboygan Falls Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years until relinquishing that post in 1949. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Alex Kolb and a daughter, Mrs. Reno (Audrey) Widder of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Leo Klessig and Mrs. Paul Jost, both of Cleveland, Wis.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Edward W. Albertine, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood cemetery in Sheboygan
