Charles E. Kolb, 80, a retired Sheboygan police officer, died Sunday at his home, 1908 N. 10th St., after a protracted illness.
A native of Manitowoc County, he was born Oct. 18, 1874, in the Town of Meeme, a son of the late Karl and Henrietta Kolb. He made his home in Sheboygan most of his life.
Mr. Kolb served as a patrolman with the Sheboygan Police Department for 27 years, joining the force on Sept. 6, 1905, and retiring on Oct. 15, 1932.
Survivors are his wife, Katherine; a son, Lester E.J. of Shawano, WI; one grandson; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Mathilda) Jost, and Mrs. Leo (Emelia) Klessig of Cleveland, WI, and a brother, Herman Kolb, Sheboygan Falls. Eight brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Em. Malkow, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be made in Sheboygan.
