Fred Kolb, 72, a former Sheboygan resident, died Sunday at the home of his son, Clarence Kolb, following a lengthy illness.

The son of Carl and Henrietta Kolb, the deceased was born Nov. 8, 1874, in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County. As a young man, he moved to Barron, Wis., to learn the blacksmith trade, and on Nov. 21, 1900, he was married to Emma Vogel. The couple made their home in Sheboygan for five years, then moved to Centerville, where Mr. Kolb operated a blacksmith shop until 1936. Since his retirement he made his home in Cleveland. He was a member of Sts. John and Peter Lutheran church and served on the church board for six years and as parish treasurer for one term.

Survivors include the widow; one son, Clarence; one grandchild; three brothers; Ernst of Barron, Wis.; Charles of Sheboygan, and Herman of Sheboygan Falls; and four sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Jost of St. Wendel; Mrs. Louise Koellmer of Sheboygan and Mrs. Amelia Klessig and Mrs. Bertha Vogel both of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be held at Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel and at Ss. John and Peter Lutheran Church. The Rev. M. A. Braun, pastor will officiate.
