Born in the Hudson section of Plains Township, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Elizabeth (Mattick) Binker.
She attended Sacred Heart High School, Plains Township, and was employed as a wrapper for General Cigar, Wilkes-Barre, Plains Manufacturing, and Victory Pig, Wyoming, as a waitress until her retirement.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains Township, and was a member and past president of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Betty was also a member of the Italian American Citizens Club Auxiliary, Hudson, The Bowling League at Lispi's Lanes and the I.L.G.W.U.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Catani, on Sept. 14, 1977; infant sister, Mary Binker; and brothers, Frank and Joe Binker.
Surviving are her son, Bob Catani and his wife Marilou, Houston, Texas; daughter, Betty Lipfert and her husband Harry, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Liz Mullen, Dallas, Nicole Perrella, Wilkes-Barre, Gregg Catani and Jessica Catani, both of Houston, Nikki Frederick, Dallas, and Courtney Santa Maria, Charleston, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Blanca, Kirsten, Paige, Jordan, Alex and Brian; brothers, Otto Binker, New Cumberland, Paul and John Binker, both of Hudson; sisters, Julia Berretta, Exeter, Dorothy DeAnthony and Mary Drew, both of Hudson, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains Township. A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Plains Township.
Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Plains Township.
