Dorothy T. DeAnthony, 91, of the Hudson section of Plains Township, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 5, 2013, at St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Plains Township, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Elizabeth Mattick Binker.

Dorothy attended Sacred Heart School in Plains Township, was employed as housekeeping manager of the Host Motel for many years and was a waitress at the Victory Pig in Wyoming for more than 50 years, until her retirement.

She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Township, the Ladies of Charity, a former member of Sacred Heart Church and its choir, and the Traveler Bowling Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor DeAnthony, on July 17, 1975; brothers, Joseph and Francis Binker; and sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Catani and infant sister Mary Binker.

Surviving are her son, Victor DeAnthony and his wife, Marlene, Plains Township; daughter, Dorothy Jean Evans and her husband, Daniel, Arnor, N.C.; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; sisters Julia Beretta, Montrose; and Mary Drew, Hudson; brothers, Otto Binker, New Cumberland; Paul and John Binker, Hudson; numerous nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Township.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains Township.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
