ELINOR STEINBREKER

Elinor Steinbreker, age 78, formerly of Manitowoc, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 31, 1993, after a courageous battle with kidney disease. The family would like to thank the dedicated staffs of the Royce C. Lin Memorial Dialysis Center and Bornemann Nursing Home for their love and kindness.

She was born September 14, 1914, at Kellnersville, daughter of the late Edward and Theresa (née Sleger) Ledvina.

She married Gilbert R. Steinbrecker June 12, 1940; he preceded her in death eight years ago, on January 31, 1985.

Elinor was an elementary school teacher in the Towns of Kossuth, Gibson and Cooperstown. For the last 30 years she taught at Holy Innocents School in Manitowoc. In 1978, she was awarded an Honorary Life's Certificate from the State of Wisconsin Education Superintendent. She retired from the classroom in 1978 after 46 years of dedicated teaching. She loved God, His children, and life. Mrs. Steinbrecker graduated from Manitowoc Teachers College in 1931. She also attended St. Norbert College, DePere, Oshkosh State College, Oshkosh, University of Wisconsin, Madison and Silver Lake College, Manitowoc. She was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, the Christian Women of the Church, Catholic Women's Club, Manitowoc County Historical Society, and the State Retired Teacher Association.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Lindy Steinbrecker, Green Bay; three grandchildren, Christina, William (BJ) and Robbie, all of Green Bay; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion and Adolph Frelich, Manitowoc, Grace and John Quinlan, Green Bay; three sisters-in-law, Viola Ledvina, Mary Ledvina and Mary Ebeling; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence, Edward and Leonard Ledvina, and her sisters, Anne Ledvina, Lillian Hamernik and Leona Herold.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 1993, at 11 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum.
