Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Shimer, 44, were held Tuesday afternoon at the late home in Somerset with the Rev. Ernest F. Scott, pastor Somerset Union Methodist Episcopsal church, officiating. Burial was in Somerset cemetery.
Mrs. Shimer died Saturday afternoon after a long illness. She was born in the Town of Somerset where she had always lived. She was the youngest of a family of six children of George and Harriet Leighton.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Shimer, one son, Harold; two brothers and two sisters, G. William Leighton, Mrs. D. R. Fitts, Miss Rebecca Leighton of Somerset and Frank Leighton of Buffalo.
