1968 - Harry J. DeLong of 211 1st St., Slatington, died yesterday at home. He was 70. DeLong was a custodian in the Freemansburg School District until retiring. He was the husband of Mary (Saeger) DeLong. They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last October. Surviving besides his widow are six sons, Robert of Slatington; Ernest of Hamburg; Raymond of Waterloo, N.Y.; Curtis of Pen Argyl, and Wayne and James, both of Bethlehem; four daughters, Miriam, wife of Albert Werner, and Mrs. Beatrice Seibert, both of Catasauqua; Olive, wife of Herbert Wolfinger of Laureldale, and Doris, wife of Louis Lorah of Slatington; three brothers, Allen and Daniel, both of Catasauqua, and Roy of Egypt; four sisters, Mrs. Annie German of Tunkhannock; Ella, wife of Martin Wieand of Catasauqua; Lillian, wife of Clarence Stout of Jim Thorpe, and Erma, wife of Robert Gehman of Coopersburg; 32 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Allen E. Morgan Funeral Home, 1002 Main St., Slatington.
