Wolfgang Meyer, 89, retired farmer, died Monday evening at the home in the village of Clarks Mills, after a three weeks illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the home and at 9 o’clock from the St. Mary Catholic church, Clarks Mills. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Meyer was born in Austria in 1848 and came to this country when a young man, locating in Cato. He married Miss Magdeline Vogel in 1873.
They located on a farm in Cato which he operated 24 years ago when he retired and moved to Clarks Mills. He was a charter member of the Catholic Knights Branch No. 146.
Mrs. Meyer died in 1932.
Survivors are four sons, Wolfgang Jr., Andale, Kan., Louis, city, George, Reedsville, Joseph, Clarks Mills; five daughters, Mrs. Louis Vogel, Cato, Mrs. Carl Wagner, Deerfield, Ill., Mrs. Fred Reitmeyer, Whitelaw, Mrs.
Frank Doubek and Mrs. August Meyer of Clarks Mills; 42 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The body is at the home in Clarks Mills and may be viewed there until the hour of the services Thursday.
