David Gavensky was on Sept. 23, 1910 in Vilnius, Lithuania under the name of David Gawenski. His family made the bold and brave decision to pack up their life and embark on a new journey to America on January 13, 1917 and arrived at the port of New York on Feb. 1, 1917. David took the name of David Gavensky and Gavens. He met and married Sylvia Karess with whom he had three daughters and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great children with. He was loved, missed and admired by many he he came in contact with.
