Anna M. Grebel, 78, of Edwardsville, died at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital at Highland.
Mrs. Grebel had been a resident of the Madison County Shelter Care Nursing Home for the last four years. She was an employee there until her retirement in 1963.
She was born Oct. 25, 1898, in Pin Oak Township. Her parents were the late John and Rose Bast Gremer. She was married to William Grebel Oct. 27, 1918, in St. Mary's Church at Edwardsville. Her husband survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Dorothy) Bardelmeier of Edwardsville, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and sisters, Mrs. Frances Richardson and Mrs. Mary Leitner, both of Edwardsville.
Mrs. Grebel was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. funeral services Friday in the Lesley Marks Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Maul officiating.
Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be sent to the Madison County Shelter Care Nursing Home.
