Minnie Murphy
Mrs. Minnie Mae Lee Murphy, 83, of Toccoa, died Friday, March 30, at Toccoa Nursing Center.
Born in Oconee County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Styles Dandy and Floysie Lyles Lee, and was the widow of Paul John Murphy. She was a homemaker and member of Free Will Gospel Holiness Church.
Survivors include four sons, Lester B. Murphy of Demorest, John C. Murphy and Marvin L. Murphy, both of Toccoa, and Albert H. (Buster) Murphy of Westminster, S.C.; six daughters, Mrs. Hoke (Genevieve) Gibby, Mrs. Garnet (Annie Bell) Davis and Mrs. Floyd (Eula) Simmons, all of Toccoa, Mrs. Haskel (Pauline) Phillips and Mrs. Glenn (Minnie) Adams, both of Westminster, and Mrs. Leonard (Lizzie Mae) Grant of Salem, S.C.; one brother, Willie Lee of Westminster; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Norris and Mrs. Gracie Norris, both of Toccoa, and Mrs. Myrtie Davis of Morrow; stepmother, Mrs. Ruth Lee of Westminster; four half brothers, Glenn Lee, Haskell Lee, Sam Lee and Ralph Lee, all of Westminster; 28 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Whitlock Mortuary, with the Rev. Hoyt Stephens, the Rev. J.B. Smith and the Rev. Terry Carver officiating. Grandsons were pallbearers. Burial was in Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
