Genevieve was employed with a floral business for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of North Trinity Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by three children, Barry Lee Gibby, Perry Hoke Gibby and Jennifer Lynn Gibby and by her siblings, Mack Murphy, Eula Simmons, Anna Bell Davis, Lizzie Mae Grant, Cleo Hayes, Pauline Phillips, Leon Murphy, John Murphy, Bert Murphy, Minnie Lee Adams and Albert "Buster" Murphy.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years of the home, Hoke Gibby; niece raised in the home, Cathy Pruitt; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 14, 2024, 3 o'clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens.
