Peter Blocher son of Joseph and Sarah Hollinger Blocher was born at Willow Springs, Douglas County, Kansas and passed away 6 Feb 1947 at his home. He had been ill since May 1945 when he moved from his farm to Garden City. He moved to Finney County in 1914 and homesteaded in the sandhills 20 miles southwest of Garden City where he lived until several years ago. He was a true Pioneer, weathered many a storm and knew full well what it was to go through hard times.
Their children included: four sons, Alfred Leonard (10 May 1897-10 Jan 1977), Dewett Botha (19 Jan 1901-18 Oct 1972), Lee Roy (4 Feb 1903-27 Jan 1978), Jess Willard (21 Jun 1916-11 Jan 2002); five daughters, Gladys Marie Cox (15 Aug 1905-25 Sep 1994), Dr. Lina Hazel Brindlow (11 Aug 1908-8 Aug 1992), Sadie Mae Sinclair (30 Aug 1911-11 Jul 1966, Vivian Eunice Holmes Argall (22 Aug 1914-2 Dec 1979) and Venna Erma Holmes (22 Aug 1914-24 Apr 2003).
