Oldest son of Samuel Blocher and Catherine Wyland. Married Sarah Hollinger 11 Aug 1853 Darke Co OH by Jacob Miller, minister of the German Baptist Church. They lived in Darke County until about 1863 when they took a flat boat to Kansas City MO and drove a team of mules 80 miles to Willow Springs in Douglas Co KS. They had 13 children: Jonathan (12 Nov 1854-18 Mar 1859), Abraham (8 Aug 1856-23 Nov 1936), Samuel (2 Nov 1857-7 Mar 1942), Catherine Trapp (4 Aug 1858-23 Nov 1908), Noah (9 Mar 1861-26 Mar 1930), Adam (25 Dec 1863-2 Jan 1904), Ephram (18 Jul 1864-24 Jul 1864), Joshua (20 Jul 1866-11 Aug 1951), Caleb (12 Oct 1867-12 Aug 1898), Philip (17 Apr 1869-18 Mar 1932), Peter (22 Aug 1870-6 Feb 1947), Barbara Reed (11 Mar 1872-23 Jan 1958) and Lydia Maichel (11 Oct 1873-28 Jun 1964).
