She came with her parents to Osage county when young in years and settled on a farm two miles east and one mile north of Overbrook, where they have resided for over sixty years, and where they were living at the time of her accidental death.
On June 3, 1893, she was united in marriage to Charlie N Reed, in Lawrence, Kansas.
To this union were born three children, a son and two daughters' Fred H, Mabel and Elsie.
Barbara, as she was known to her friends, loved life and the great out of doors, enjoyed working with nature, flowers and vegetable gardening and shared generously with others.
Those who survive are her husband, Charlie of the home, a son Fred H of Overbrook; two daughters, Mrs Mabel Price of Overbrook and Mrs Claude Perryman of Topeka; one sister Mrs Lydia Machiel of Topeka; many other relatives and hosts of friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 5, at the Overbrook Methodist church, conducted by Rev E O Harbour of Topeka assisted by Rev William Ralphs of Overbrook. Mrs William Ralphs and Mrs Harold Kinney sang "In the Garden" and "Good Night and Good Morning", with Mrs Don Hoyt, organist.
The casket bearers were Joe Baldwin, Herschell Talley, Ellis Martin, Bill Baldwin, Harold Kinney and Don Hoyt.
