VIRGINIA BEACH, VA.- Claudine Grace Brown Fox, 86, died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Leigh Centura Hospital, Norfolk, Va. She formally resided at 4183 Ewell Road, Virginia Beach, Va.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro, N.C.

Claudine (Dinnie) was born on April 23, 1920, to the late James F. Brown Sr., and Tempe Jones Brown, in Guilford County. She graduated from Bessemer High School. She was a member of Chesapeake Women's Club and she was a member of Azalea Baptist Church in Norfolk, Va.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers, William Clifton Brown Sr., James Fred Brown Jr., sisters, Ollie Pearl Brown Mellusi, Helen Floyd Brown Huckabee, stepson Steven Fox, first husband Clay Young, who was killed when his plane went down over Germany in World War II.

She is survived by her husband, Carl D. Fox; son James Byron Fox and wife Charlene; grandson Michael; sisters, Montrose B. Pennisi, Lillian B. May of Greensboro; brother Charles H. Brown of McLeansville; grandson Christian Fox; granddaughters, Celeste Dramlette, Charisse Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
