"MRS D W TRYON DIED SUDDENLY YESTERDAY - Well Known Woman Dropped Dead in Her Home, West Spruce Street, From Heart Failure - Mrs Cornelia E Tryon, wife of D W Tryon, dropped dead in her home, 324 West Spruce street, yesterday afternoon at about 4 o'clock and the physician, who was called said that death was instantaneous and due to heart failure. Mrs Tryon, although in her 75th year, had enjoyed very good health all winter. She attended church services last Sunday, baked bread and washed a few articles of clothing yesterday. Shortly before 4 pm she sat down in a chair and complained to her sister, who lived with her, that she was dizzy. She never spoke again and was dead when her sister reached her side. Mrs Tryon's maiden name was Cook (sic) [Cooke] and she was born in Winsted, Conn, on September 15, 1850. She went to Illinois when a girl and on January 5, 1869, at Mattoon, Ill, was united in marriage with Mr Tryon, who survives her. Their entire married life had been spent in Eastern Crawford, they having resided for many years in the vicinity of Tryonville and Spartansburg and moved to Titusville six years ago. Mrs Tryon had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since young womanhood and was held in high esteem as a woman of admirable Christian character. Her sudden passing came as a distinct shock and brought grief to a wide circle of acquaintances. Besides the husband, Mrs Tryon leaves three sons, Allen C Tryon of Pensacola, Fla, N Eugene Tryon of Maumee, O, and Frank C Tryon of North Syracuse, NY. A daughter, Miss Lucia Tryon, died in Denver, Col, in 1908. There is also one sister, Mrs Emma Tryon, who resided with her. Arrangements for the funeral will be made later."
