Services for George Pal Damiano, 60, Stella, route 1, who died Saturday in Cardwell Memorial Hospital were held Tuesday afternoon in Neosho. The Rev. Billy Joe Gentry officiated and burial was in Macedonia Cemetery.
Mr. Damiano was born Jan. 4, 1914, at Albuquerque, New Mexico. He came to Stella in 1950 from Wichita, Kans. He owned and operated George's Grocery Stores in Pepsin, Stella, Bethlehem and Carthage until his retirement in 1963 due to ill health. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Walter M. Hatler Post No. 4142 VFW. He was a former member of the IOOF Lodge at Wichita, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose Damiano; a brother, Ralph Damiano, Knoxville, Iowa; and five sisters, Mrs. Mary Dannenfelser, Ft. Worth, Tex., Mrs. Florence Dee, Pepsin, Mrs. Alice Rowe, Neosho, and Mrs. Virginia Mitchell and Mrs. Eloise Bowman, both of Stella.
