Hannah Gillett was the daughter of Joel Gillett 1764 and Phoebe. Her parents married in Dutchess County, New York, then moved to Canaan, Columbia County where Hannah was born. They eventually moved to Mendon, Monroe County, New York. Joel and Phoebe are buried in the Mendon Cemetery.
Hannah must have married Martin Lovejoy (son of Ebenezer Lovejoy and Sarah Sylvia Beebe, in Chatham, Columbia County in 1820) while still in Columbia County, and they moved to Mendon by 1830, and then to Victor, Ontario County, New York by 1840.
They had the following children: Laura 1826, Edward Ebenezer 1831, and John 1833.
Hannah, Martin, Martin's second wife Hannah Sheldon, son Edward Ebenezer and his second wife Charlotte are all buried in this cemetery.
