John was a son of the late Charles Wesley and Elizabeth "Bettie" Henderson Williamson and my maternal Great-Uncle. He married Flossie Emerson Henderson and became stepfather to Flossie's daughter, Katherine. John and Flossie had a son, Billy, born in 1941. Other than his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers Edward, Estes, and Burl. His wife and two children survive, along with his brothers Gus and Charlie Williamson, and his sister, Etna Williamson Brown, and many nieces and nephews.
Uncle John was a fun-loving man and loved to tease my cousins and me when we came to visit. He and Aunt Flossie lived a long and happy life together farming in the Gum Log community of Towns County, GA.
