Deloris Mae Biddinger Fields, 86, of Columbus, died at 9:47 a.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at her home.

Mrs. Fields was born in Alert, October 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Ellen Brotherton Biddinger. She married Barrett B. Fields in 1942 and he preceded her in death January 8, 1986.

Mrs. Fields was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus and a member of Women of the Moose and Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion auxiliaries. She enjoyed reading her Bible, country music concerts, red birds and flowers.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11a.m. Thursday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with Charles Kennedy officiating. Calling will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or to the Parkinson's Foundation.

Mrs. Fields is survived by two sons, Barrett Eugene "Gene" (Mickey) Fields and Ricky L. (Lisa) Fields, both of Columbus; three daughters, Carolyn Cox, Linda (John) Joy and Brenda K. Fields, all of Columbus; a sister, Dorothy Manlief of Greenfield; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by four brothers, Clancy, Walter "Doc," Bob and George Biddinger; and two sisters, Mildred Allen and Ellen Smith.
